On Saturday December 14, 2024 Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One honored the service of Captain Teri Parker and congratulates her on her retirement. Captain Parker's last official day is December 21st, 2024; however, she is taking her remaining vacation time this week.
Captain Parker joined the Ward 6 Fire Department in 1992 as a volunteer. She quickly realized her passion was in public service. In 1997, Capt. Parker was hired as the first full time firefighter of Ward 6 Fire. Throughout the years she dedicated herself to serving the community and to being the backbone of our growing department.
Weathering hurricanes, wildfires, and thousands of emergency calls where she made a difference in our community. She served 5 years as a volunteer and 27 years as a career firefighter/officer for a total of 32 years in the fire service.
Her legacy will forever be etched in the history of the Ward 6 Fire Dept. Even though she is retiring, Teri has agreed continue volunteering with the department in a support role.
