At 5:01 pm, Ward 6 Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 400 blk of Peach st. Houston River Fire and DeQuincy Fire was dispatched as automatic aid.
Upon arrival of Ward 6 Unit 901, smoke was observed coming from the eaves and attic vents. Engine 7 arrived and firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and contained the fire to the kitchen area with some extension to the laundry room.
In this case, homeowner was alerted by a smoke detector, discovered the fire, and safely evacuated the structure.

Ward 6 Engines 7, 19, Service 10, and Unit 901. DQFD engine and service, HRFD engine and service responded to the incident and all units cleared the scene at 1830 hrs.
