Upon arrival of the first unit, fire was observed com8ng from the roof of the manufactured home and appeared to be in the small attic space making it difficult to access.

DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department and HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT were dispatched as automatic aid.

Ward 6 Command requested additional manpower via mutual aid from Beauregard Fire Beauregard Fire Protection District No. 1 and Beauregard Parish Fire District 2 .

Ward 5 Fire was also requested to respond to provide a tanker and manpower. Upon gaining control of the fire, Ward 5 Fire was reassigned to the DeQuincy Fire Station to provide coverage for other emergencies in DeQuincy and Ward 6. Ward 5 fire responded to a fire alarm at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital which proved to be a false alarm.

The structure sustained heavy damage and firefighters located 4 dogs during extinguishment, all of them were rescued and ok. Firefighters were unable to locate 2 other dogs that are missing.

American Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to the homeowners.

All Ward 6 units were back in station at 12:15am.
