Multiple volunteer departments joined together for training drills at the Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center.

The training consisted of interior fire attack utilizing the burn building training prop. Drills were also conducted on proper chain saw operations and practice of using chain saws for vertical ventilation. Crews also performed primary and secondary searches of the interior smoke maze to enhance their skills at locating victims in a burning building.

Volunteer firefighters from the following departments attended and performed the tasks necessary to enhance their skills while protecting their community.
Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One, DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department, HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT, Iowa Volunteer Fire Department, Ward 5 Fire Protection District 1 and Beauregard Parish Fire District 2

The firefighters would like to give a big shout out to John and Jessie Parker, owners of Crust Pizza Co. - Sulphur, La for providing pizza and sides for a meal. The support of our local businesses providing the meal allows for the volunteers to come to training after leaving their full time jobs.
