After more than 80 years, a Lake Charles sailor killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor is returning home to southwest Louisiana.

Lake Charles native and U.S. Navy Fireman 1st Class Joseph Conner was 26 when he died aboard the USS Utah during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor.

The procession was escorted by motor officers from various law enforcement agencies and it started in Houston at the airport proceeding to Lake Charles this evening.
