Ward 6 Fire has responded to multiple woods fires over the weekend

We are currently on scene of a woods fire on Old Airport Road. DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department was also on scene assisting us.
Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry are on scene now plowing containment lines around the fire. There will be smoke in the area over night.
Some of our district received rainfall this evening; however, some areas did not and it is extremely dry. Please use caution if you decide to burn and make sure you have an adequate water supply should the fire get out of control.
